GO Packaging is one of North America’s leading specialty packaging equipment and supply companies. Our roots date back to 1934 and our beginnings were primarily in the wire tying business. Ovalstrapping Inc quickly established itself as a leader in this market. In 1974, the company purchased the Gerrard Company (Canada) becoming Gerrard-Ovalstrapping (GO). GO continued to grow as a manufacturing company when we added the manufacturing of Polypropylene and Polyester (PET) strap.

In 1978, GO introduced a new line of high speed, high quality strapping machines using Polypropylene Strapping designed and manufactured by GO. These high speed strapping systems have sold worldwide and due to their exceptional design and longevity, many of them are still in use today. GO’s R&D and Engineering continues to introduce significant technological advances and today provides a line of the some of the fastest and most reliable strapping systems available in the packaging industry.

In 2006, GO was purchased by Samuel Manu-Tech Inc, a public company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) trading under the symbol SMT. Under the SMT umbrella, GO has increased polypropylene manufacturing capacity and added manufacturing capability in Steel Strapping, PET, and Tools and Systems for application of these consumables.

With operations in both Canada and the USA, GO also distributes packaging equipment, packaging consumables and warehouse supplies from industry leading supply partners. Our core competencies today include, but are not limited to; Stretch wrap, Shrink Wrap, Tape, Steel Strap, PP Strap, PET strap, Coding and Labeling, Material handling and a wide array of custom engineered packaging systems and lines. Our supply partners include 3M, Lantech, Sigma Stretch Films, Pliant, AEP, Bollore Shrink Films, Nichiro, Joinpack, Fromm and many other partners.

GO has an extensive service organization providing installation, training, technical support and field service on all the products we sell.
